Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drafting and Design Professional to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Drafting and Design Professional, you will be responsible for creating, reviewing, and correcting building plans and drawings while ensuring compliance with Canadian and Alberta building codes and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of drafting principles, and in-depth knowledge of both Canada and Alberta building codes.
We are looking to hire candidates who reside in Edmonton, Alberta. We are not looking to sponsor people from overseas.
Responsibilities:
Create and review detailed architectural drawings and plans for residential construction projects.
Ensure compliance with Canadian and Alberta building codes, regulations, and standards.
Perform comprehensive checks and corrections on residential plans to identify errors and discrepancies.
Stay updated with current residential building codes in Canada and Alberta.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
Utilize CAD software proficiently for drafting purposes.
Maintain accurate project documentation.
Requirements:
Proven experience in residential drafting and design.
Excellent knowledge of Canadian and Alberta residential building codes.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or Revit).
Strong attention to detail and error identification skills.
Solid understanding of architectural and engineering principles.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in problem-solving.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior mentoring experience preferred.
Professional certification or license in drafting/design is an asset.
