PROMOTE SOCIAL & EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE RESIDENTS

  • Proactively design and Implement CYPs’ daily activities via planned daily schedule to promote bonding and social development (e.g. to plan/support Home in Home activities and circle time that improve relationships between residents and RCA, and inject teachable moments and imparting of values in these activities).
  • Develop rapport with the CYPs using creative methods and provide emotional support to them (e.g. to reach out to the CYPs individually on an intentional basis).
  • Encourage and reward positive behaviours, address unacceptable behaviour promptly and document CYPs’ good/unacceptable behaviours according to SBP behaviour management system (e.g. TI-PBIS framework).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in any discipline
  • Preferably at least 1 year of relevant experience. Fresh graduates may also be considered.
  • Experience working or volunteering with children and youth groups will have an added advantage.
  • Able to interact positively with children and youths and enforce discipline in a fair and respectful manner.
  • Empathy and Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • The ability to work well with others.
  • Good communication skills to interact with a diverse group of residents.
  • Good team player with a high level of initiative and independence.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to do rotating shifts including night shifts.
  • Has a pleasant disposition and able to work independently and maintain a good working relationship with staff across teams.
Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, caregiving for their physical and psychological needs and guidance for the children and young persons (CYPs).
  • To ensure the smooth running of the Home/dormitory by providing a healing/therapeutic, clean, safe and healthy living environment.
  • Ensure residents attend school regularly.
  • Adopting the Trauma – Informed care approach by rewarding and encouraging the residents to display good behaviour.
  • Ensuring residents’ needs are well taken care of.
  • Any other admin tasks assigned by Reporting Officer.
