AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY HAS ARISEN FOR A SENIOR RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER TO JOIN A LEARNING DISABILITIES (LD) CHILDREN’S RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME

OUR SUCCESSFUL SENIOR SUPPORT WORKER WILL NEED TO POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • NVQ Level 3 Children’s residential Or NVQ Level 3/4 Children, Young People & Family Practitioner (essential)
  • Experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs
  • Supervisory experience
  • Passion to help nurture young people
  • Knowledge of Makaton or PECs is desirable
  • Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins
  • Full, UK driving licence (essential)
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to children with learning disabilities, ensuring their safety, dignity, and well-being are maintained at all times
  • Assist with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, and feeding, as required
  • Supporting the daily running of the home and Senior Management decisions
  • Leading teams
  • Conducting Supervisions
  • Shift planning
  • Supporting team development
  • Direct practical interactions with children and young people including play, activities, cooking, personal care, engaging with the wider community, supporting educational and health needs
  • General house duties and maintenance
  • Completing health and safety checks
  • Budgeting
  • Advocacy
  • Engage in planning, creating, updating and implementing care plans
  • Creating, updating and adhering to individual risk assessments
  • Keyworking
  • Working in partnership with other agencies
  • Report writing and attending reviews as required
    Shift Pattern: 2 days on shift, then 4 days off, however this is flexible based on the requirements of the home
    Candidates must have their NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce or NVQ Level 3 in Children’s residential.
