THE ROLE
As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll be a role model for both young people and staff. You’ll take the lead on shifts, support with care planning, guide less experienced colleagues, and play a key role in providing consistency, structure, and emotional safety for the young people in our care.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
✔ Lead Shifts – Manage daily routines, delegate tasks, and ensure the smooth running of the home
✔ Provide Emotional Support – Build strong, therapeutic relationships with young people, using trauma-informed approaches
✔ Safeguarding First – Always promote and protect the safety and welfare of the children
✔ Be Hands-On – Support with school runs, appointments, household tasks, and community activities
✔ Report Writing & Key Working – Maintain clear, accurate records and take the lead on care plans where appropriate
✔ Support Behaviour Management – Confidently de-escalate challenging behaviour and promote positive routines
✔ Mentor & Guide – Support junior staff through coaching, supervision, and leading by example
✔ Work Collaboratively – Communicate effectively with external professionals, families, and the management team
