What You’ll Be Doing
· Deliver high standards of care, protection, and support for children and children with complex needs.
· Lead by example and guide less experienced staff in therapeutic and nurturing care.
· Support the emotional, physical, psychological, and recreational development of children.
· Create care plans, risk assessments, and ensure all documentation is up to date.
· Lead shifts, manage the home effectively, and complete paperwork before handover.
· Provide clear, positive boundaries while being flexible and emotionally available.
· Supervise and mentor your team to promote good practice and reflective care.
· Handle challenging behaviour with creativity, patience, and consistency.
· Maintain staff rotas to ensure appropriate safeguarding cover is always in place.
· Support the ongoing development of children while keeping fun and laughter at the centre of the home.
What We’re Looking For
· Warm, empathic personality who builds trust and connection.
· Skilled staff experienced with trauma-informed care and supporting children with EBD.
· Resilience in the face of emotional challenges and occasional rejection.
· Great multitasking skills – think cooking dinner while defusing teenage drama!
· Curiosity and creativity when supporting behaviour or mentoring others.
· Commitment to leading shifts and completing care documentation.
· Ability to guide, support, and inspire a team.
Essential Requirements
· At least 1 year of experience in residential childcare.
· Some experience in a supervisory or senior role.
· Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
· Enhanced DBS (we’ll support you if you need a new one).
· Ability to work to a rota including sleep-in shifts.
· Strong teamworking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Desirable (but not essential):
· Full UK Driving Licence (or working towards it).
· Good IT skills and record-keeping ability.
· Emotional intelligence and a sense of humour.
· A can-do attitude and openness to learning.

All new staff undergo a formal induction, probation period, regular supervision, and annual appraisal in compliance with Regulation 33.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker you’ll formally supervise and mentor less experienced staff, supporting reflective practice, performance development, and ensuring consistent therapeutic care.
