We are looking for experienced, motivated individuals to join us as Senior Residential Support Workers, playing a key leadership role within our homes while providing outstanding care to young people.
About the Role:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support young people with all aspects of daily life, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Alongside direct care responsibilities, you will also support the wider team, leading shifts, promoting high standards, and contributing to the effective running of the home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting young people to develop life skills, engage in hobbies, build friendships, and experience new opportunities.
- Providing consistent care and creating a nurturing, therapeutic home environment.
- Acting as a positive role model, building trusting relationships that promote growth and resilience.
- Leading shifts with confidence - directing, supporting, and motivating colleagues to deliver exceptional care.
- Conducting staff supervisions and supporting the development of team members.
- Assisting with staff inductions, ensuring new colleagues are welcomed and guided effectively. Taking responsibility for safeguarding, promoting the welfare of young people at all times.
- Supporting health and safety within the home, including completing and monitoring risk assessments.
- Managing the home in the absence of the Deputy or Registered Manager, ensuring consistent standards and routines are maintained.
- Accurately reporting, recording, and maintaining clear, detailed records in line with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with the team to meet each young person’s care plan and individual needs.

What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential care setting
- Ability to confidently lead shifts and support colleagues in delivering high-quality care.
- Strong role model, demonstrating Thryva’s values and encouraging personal development.
- Emotional resilience, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
- Full UK driving licence - essential for transporting young people.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - essential.
- A desire to progress within the organisation and support the growth of others.
