SENIOR RSW JOB DESCRIPTION ADULTS

We are currently looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team. This key role involves leading shifts, supporting staff, and helping create a stable, caring, and respectful environment for vulnerable adults with a range of complex needs.

We’re seeking a caring, confident, and capable individual with leadership experience in adult social care. You’ll be someone who leads by example, handles challenging situations with empathy and professionalism, and is genuinely passionate about supporting vulnerable adults to lead meaningful and empowered lives.
REQUIREMENTS
· Previous experience in a residential care or supported living setting (essential)
· Experience in a Senior Support Worker or shift lead role (essential)
· Understanding of adult safeguarding and relevant legislation
· Excellent communication, reporting, and team leadership skills
· Willingness to work flexibly across shift patterns, including weekends and on-call
· Commitment to ongoing professional development
You will be qualified to or willing to work towards your NVQ3 in care. You will also require an enhanced DBS. The cost of this will be met by the employer.

· Lead and support a team of care staff, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.

· Provide guidance, supervision, and support to team members and act as a positive role model.
· Ensure adherence to safeguarding procedures, care plans, and health & safety policies.
· Communicate professionally with families, external professionals, and regulatory bodies.
· Oversee and contribute to accurate, timely care documentation and reports.
· Administer medication safely in line with company policies.
· Support residents with personal care, daily living tasks, and community engagement.
· Attend and contribute to reviews, team meetings, and care planning sessions.
· Participate in the on-call rota as required.
· Promote a positive team culture that values respect, communication, and collaboration.
· Mentor new team members during induction and provide supervision to junior staff.
