Description

Position Title: Senior Resource Geologist Location: Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Job Description Coordinate, review and/or assist in estimating mineral resource models from interpretation of geology and mineral controls to estimation of metal grades and validation of grade models at the operations, in addition to development and exploration projects. Monitor analytical quality control programs and contribute to 43-101 Technical Reports and SEC SK-1300 reports. Assist in the planning and monitoring of near-mine resource conversion and exploration drilling programs. Contribute as a member of an evaluation team on project or mine acquisitions. Reports to: Chief Geologist Responsibilities * Review and assemble geologic data required for resource estimations and technical reports including mapping, sampling, assaying, asbuilts, petrography and metallurgy, and categorize that data as to suitability for generating a mineral resource and/or reserve. Identify data gaps or inconsistencies in that data. * Provide geologic models and block model estimates with industry standard validation and reporting. * Provide guidance and review of assaying quality assurance programs. * Provide guidance and review of quarterly reconciliation reports for operating mines. * Work with resource geologists at the operations for evaluation of model predictability. Periodically review and modify, if required, model estimation workflows at the operations and development projects. * Participate in annual resource and reserve reporting. Support the completion of NI43-101 or SK-1300 Technical Reports as required. Interface with external QP auditors involved in that work. * Assist the Technical Services group with project evaluation and in the development of Mineral Reserve models as required. * Assist the Corporate Development group with project/company evaluations and Due Diligence studies with appropriate reporting as required. Qualifications and Requirements * Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related field; an advanced degree in a related field is a plus. * Minimum of ten years of experience as a geologist at operating mines and five years in geological and geostatistical modeling. Experience in narrow-vein modeling and mining is a plus along with experience in the following mineral deposit styles: * Volcanogenic massive sulfide. * Archean greenstone-hosted gold (orogenic) and related deposits. * Low-sulfidation and high-sulfidation epithermal; and * Mesothermal silver-base metal veins. * Demonstrated proficiency with Leapfrog Geo and EDGE required. Experience with Surpac, Vulcan, GEMS or other mining software expected. * Effective verbal and written communication skills. * Member in good standing of a Self-Regulating Organization and certification as a ‘Qualified Person’ is preferred. * National and international travel availability as required for varying periods. * Ability to work independently and effectively within team structures; self-motivated with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects and activities in an efficient and timely manner; and able to provide insight and problem solving. * Interpersonal skills include courtesy, respect, ability to negotiate, continuous outreach to providers and consumers, encourage positive relationships with vendors, and maintenance of excellent working relationships with employees across the Company.
