We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Retail Sales Assistant on a 24 -30-hour contract in Kirkcaldy.

WHY THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU

As a Senior Sales Assistant at Stephens Bakery, you play a key role in keeping the shop running smoothly day to day. You’re responsible for opening the shop, set up for the day, run the shift, and delegate tasks to the team. We are looking for a steady, reliable presence that helps maintain high standards in customer service, food quality, and shop operations.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Take the lead in shop routines, ensuring trade runs smoothly from open to close.
• Run shifts confidently, and delegate tasks clearly and fairly
• Support your Shop or Assistant Manager in running the shop when on shift with them
• Step into problem-solve small issues during the shift and flag bigger ones to the management as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy environment for both customers and the team.
• Actively serve customers alongside the team and model excellent customer service
• Make sure the shop is always welcoming, clean, and well-stocked and encourage the team to take pride in their work
• Monitor presentation standards throughout the day and take action to keep them high.
• Carry out daily checks and paperwork to keep the shop compliant and safe.
• Manage opening and closing duties, till processes, and cash handling. Support ordering, stock rotation, and waste control.
