Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Rheumatologist to join a leading clinical research organization dedicated to driving innovation in diagnostic medicine. This is a remote role, based in EST or CST, with 20% travel required (may be international). The Senior Rheumatologist: Medical Director/Global Medical Indication Lead (FSP) offers an opportunity to lead the strategic medical direction and clinical development for a rheumatology indication, overseeing global clinical trial execution and ensuring alignment with regulatory, scientific, and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR RHEUMATOLOGIST: MEDICAL DIRECTOR/GLOBAL MEDICAL INDICATION LEAD (FSP) INCLUDE:

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) required; board certification strongly preferred.
  • Specialty training in Rheumatology (residency/fellowship) with clinical and/or research experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with deep knowledge of end-to-end drug development.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the clinical strategy for a specific indication, translating the Target Product Profile (TPP) into a robust Clinical Development Plan.
  • Provide ongoing strategic medical insight throughout all development phases.
  • Manage and mentor Global Clinical Trial Physicians, fostering high performance and quality medical support.
  • Oversee medical aspects of clinical studies, ensuring timely and effective communication across teams.
  • Ensure consistency and harmonization across studies, supporting regulatory and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead medical advisory boards and contribute to building a best-in-class development team.
  • Ensure full compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
