Description

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Rheumatologist to join a premier clinical trial site network recognized for high-quality data, regulatory compliance, and groundbreaking research. The Senior Rheumatologist will be responsible for leading clinical strategy and development for a specific indication, translating asset goals into actionable plans, managing study teams, and ensuring alignment across functions to drive successful execution. This position is fully remote out of the U.S. (preferably stationed in Eastern or Central Time Zone with the requirement to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities of the Senior Rheumatologist:

  • Lead the clinical strategy and development plan for rheumatology indications across all trial phases.
  • Provide real-time medical oversight and ensure consistency across global clinical studies.
  • Manage and mentor clinical trial physicians, fostering high performance and development.
  • Ensure alignment and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards across studies.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead medical advisory boards and contribute to long-range strategic planning.

Qualifications for the Senior Rheumatologist:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical development experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
  • Specialty training in rheumatology with clinical or research experience required.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%
  • Medical Doctor or equivalent degree with board certification and specialty training in rheumatology
