Joining Auckland Council means working at the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau, working alongside passionate colleagues who are committed to making a real difference.   To read the full position description please click here: Senior Risk Advisor   This is a hybrid position *Please note we will be reviewing applications from the 19th Janaury so do not delay in applying.    Why this roles matters:   · Lead and influence enterprise-wide risk management activities. · Deliver high-impact projects that shape Council strategy, safeguard communities, and enhance organisational risk maturity. · Collaborate with senior executives, elected members, and cross-functional teams to translate complex risk challenges and information into practical and actionable solutions.   As a Senior Risk Advisor, you will:   · Develop, maintain, and embed Auckland Council’s risk management policy, framework, procedures, systems, and tools. · Provide expert guidance to business units, coaching staff and management in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risk. · Support enterprise-wide risk reporting, including to the Audit and Risk Committee and Executive Leadership Team. · Lead and contribute to high-profile projects, bringing risk expertise to complex and dynamic challenges. · Champion risk-informed decision-making while modelling professional and ethical behaviour.     He kōrero mōu: About you   You are a senior risk professional with a strong track record in enterprise risk management. You confidently engage with stakeholders across all levels—from executive teams to frontline staff—and translate complex risk concepts into practical advice and action.
