JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join the Capital Markets Risk Management (CMRM) team at a top Canadian bank. This role is focused on credit policy reporting, risk monitoring, and compliance oversight. The Senior Analyst will support credit and market risk functions across trading and non-trading businesses, ensuring policy adherence and transparency while enabling effective decision-making in a fast-paced financial environment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong knowledge of financial products and counterparty credit risk.
  • Experience with complex systems, impact assessments, testing, and process documentation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with proven follow-up and prioritization ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to influence stakeholders.

NICE-TO-HAVE EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous Risk Management role in banking or capital markets.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM.
  • Technical proficiency in Excel, SQL, VBA, Python or other analytical tools.
  • Experience in leadership, mentoring, or coaching team members.

Responsibilities
  • Generate accurate and complete processes to measure and report risk exposures.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolios to ensure compliance with established risk policies and limits.
  • Provide reporting, analysis, and escalation of risk violations and production issues.
  • Document and explain all late or missing reports, ensuring transparency in reporting processes.
  • Execute infrastructure changes related to new or revised credit policies.
  • Ensure internal control processes are adequately documented and meet governance standards.
  • Manage operational risks through cross-training, documentation, and audits.
  • Liaise with front office traders, CRM, GCC, audit, technology teams, and stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis of exposures, metrics, and transactions as required.
  • Reconcile monthly risk data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the Credit Policy Reporting team, fostering professional growth.
