JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position requires an individual with strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills, who has the ability to collaborate and build consensus through positive relationships, and has a high degree of personal initiative and attention to detail.
The key accountabilities for the role include the following:
- Oversee and coordinate the Risk Committee of the Board (RCoB), Board Remediation Committee, and the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (ERMC) meeting processes including preparation of agendas, review and quality assurance of Board and Committee materials, working with business, risk and corporate partners, and coordination with Legal Department’s Corporate Secretarial group;
- Support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to prepare speaking notes for In Camera sessions for all RCoB meetings and tracking action items for Committees on behalf of the CRO;
- Develop, maintain, and oversee enterprise risk governance standards and processes as applicable for TD Executive Committees including overseeing the process and reporting of self-assessments for the Committees;
- Manage and assist in the completion of materials for presentation to the Board, RCoB and ERMC; Manage renewal of Risk Management related Mandates and Charters;
- Represent Risk Management from time to time on corporate or enterprise-wide committees, projects or policy initiatives impacting risk governance;
- Work collaboratively with other corporate oversight functions to identify and implement consistent and effective approaches to risk governance activities;
- Maintain strong and effective working relationships with all areas of Risk Management;
- Conduct research on best practices for risk governance matters pertaining to the banking industry; Other related activities assigned from time to time.

Department Overview
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for building organizational capability in managing risk on a more integrated and comprehensive basis for the organization and for promoting a strong risk culture within TD. The team is accountable for the development and implementation of an enterprise risk management governance, policies and practices, reporting and operating frameworks, and operations associated with the Risk Management function.
TD applies the “Three Lines of Defence” model to risk management as defined in the Enterprise Risk Framework. As part of the second line of defence, the ERM team assures the appropriate design, implementation, and/or execution of (applicable components of) the TD risk management framework.
ERM collaborates with a broad network of business and risk management practitioners and other corporate functions in all jurisdictions where the Bank has business activities.
Job Requirements
- Experience with committee/meeting governance procedures
- Industry or risk management experience, including knowledge of risk management governance and controls
- Comfort dealing with all levels including senior executive officers
- Excellent people management and leadership abilities
- Superior written and verbal communication, facilitation and consensus-building skills
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
