This role is essential in ensuring an E&C risk management framework is in place, with effective and efficient governance processes and structures which add value and meet the requirements of the Shell Performance Framework. What you’ll be doing As the E&C Risk Governance Lead, you will have a multi-faceted role that has responsibility for managing and coordinating risk management within SECO. You will work with SECO, SME legal leadership and relevant business/functional teams to identify and document potential and existing risks, aiding Chief Ethics & Compliance Officers (CECO's) risk reporting to Shell's senior stakeholders. More specifically, your role will include: Manages fit-for-purpose risk management processes to support risk reporting to handle complex and usual business activities/issues. Maintain the documentation of the risk heatmap and ensures that there is a clear audit trail in decisions on risk management. Monitors changes in the risk environment and the effectiveness of actions taken to manage identified risks. Supports the VP E&C data, assurance & risk governance in preparing input to the CECO reporting to the Executive Committee, Audit & Risk Committee and relevant business/functional leadership as it relates to E&C risk management. Coordinates and works with E&C Managers on SECO risk reporting processes and outcomes. Coordinates and delivers reporting to support regulatory requirements. Gains insights and works within SECO and legal SMEs and proactively stays abreast of external regulatory developments to identify emerging risk trends. What you bring You are keen to use your ability to understand risks for Shell, to think strategically and act tactically and to inspire and influence stakeholders to improve risk management. Furthermore, you will have: Degree in Risk Management, Finance or equivalent. Risk Management & ERM Implementation: Proven experience in implementing risk frameworks, conducting risk assessments, adjusting controls, and rolling out enterprise risk management programs; ability to contribute to formal reporting requirements. Policy & Compliance Expertise: Skilled in interpreting policies and translating compliance requirements into actionable steps; capable of supporting training initiatives and ensuring practical application across the organization. Strategic & Proactive Execution: Focused on execution rather than design; demonstrates proactive engagement, strategic input, and capability to drive risk and compliance programs across large-scale business environments (Big 4 or similar exposure preferred). Executive-Level Reporting & Influence: Skilled in preparing reports for senior leadership up to Executive Committee level; able to challenge and influence decisions while maintaining commercial focus. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; proven ability to lead, organize, and collaborate across global teams and multiple stakeholders.
