We are looking for a full-time Senior Robotics Engineer who loves working in a dynamic environment and is excited to grow with a team around advanced additive manufacturing technologies. As a robotics engineer with Solvus Global you will lead team members from many fields (materials, controls, software, etc.) to design and integrate robotic systems surrounding material processing, handling, and additive processes such as Friction Stir AM, Wire Arc AM, and Cold Spray AM.
As a senior robotics engineer on this team, you will be responsible for supporting rapid innovation in robotic system integrations and testing, kinematics design, tool path development, and automation of robotic manufacturing tasks, while interfacing with external customers to ensure that our teams meet their needs. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading team activities, leading process automation, continuous improvement of robotic processing, selecting ideal materials, designing fixturing, and driving the business case for additive manufacturing.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years’ experience
  • Experience developing and/or optimizing custom robotics platforms
  • Experience leading teams in project execution
  • Demonstrated capability of interfacing with external customers
  • Ability to take and give direction well

ADVANTAGEOUS ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS

  • Advanced Degree in Robotics, Automation, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering
  • Experience in additive manufacturing
  • Familiarity working with major industrial robotics platforms (ABB, Fanuc, etc.)
  • Desire to develop new skills on the job
  • Broad expertise of the core competencies of robotics engineering (software, electrical, mechanical)
  • Strong desire to understand both technology and business aspects of engineering
  • Interest in mentoring and sharing knowledge among the team
  • Ability to lead efforts for architecture exploration and design, and flow down of requirements to subsystems
  • Ability to coordinate between hardware and software teams to ensure that requirements are met, and architectures are successfully implemented.
  • Lead the integration of robotic subsystems, including sensors, control systems, actuators, and communications.
  • Lead development and optimization efforts using middleware for robotic communication and control, ensuring real-time data handling.
  • Ability to work with EAR, EAR99, ITAR
  • Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100D
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
