The MSK Physiotherapy department at King’s College Hospital is very pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to work with us in a rotational Band 6 post in our MSK/orthopaedics team.
Our service is based across three sites in Loughborough Junction, Denmark Hill, and East Dulwich. Our six-monthly rotations run across all of our sites with rotation specialities including Paediatrics, Virtual Fracture Clinic, Pain/Spinal, TMJ and Orthopaedic clinics.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work and develop as an individual and as part of a specialist team, gaining clinical and operational experience in a dynamic environment supported by the Senior MSK team including Consultant Physiotherapists, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, FCP’s and specialist MSK/MCATS physiotherapy staff.
To ensure efficient and effective physiotherapy intervention for own caseload of patients with musculoskeletal conditions, either inpatients or outpatients depending on the rotation
To assess, treat and manage own caseload as an autonomous practitioner, including the maintenance of comprehensive records
To work as an effective team member, communicating appropriately with patients, carers and other team members as required
To teach and develop junior physiotherapists, students and assistants
To provide physiotherapy sessions across all King’s sites, Virtual Fracture Clinic, in the community and A&E where required
To undertake an evidence-based project throughout each rotation to further the clinical practice of self and the team, and to enhance patient care
To triage electronic referrals regularly
To work autonomously and manage a busy MSK caseload

To attend physiotherapy meetings and other meetings as required, taking on responsibility to support the functioning of the department
To take an active part in departmental meetings e.g. contribute to discussion, take on the role of Chair, contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
To undertake Therapy Handling training and comply with the guidelines
To undertake any other duties commensurate with grade as requested by the Physiotherapy Manager or Clinical Lead Physiotherapist
