SENIOR SAFETY ASSURANCE ENGINEER - SYDNEY

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED INCLUDE:

• Between 5 and 10 years (or similar) experience in relevant industry / discipline
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
• Relevant experience working within Safety Assurance in a rail environment (Rolling stock, Signalling, Rail Infrastructure preferred)
• Strong analytical and interpretation skills
• Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills.
• Strong communication skills at all levels
• Ability and willingness to assist the business in generating leads and business development opportunities in Safety Assurance

• Ensure the strict application of internal and client’s Safety Management processes and tools
• Decide on the method of safety assurance to be applied on projects, in accordance with client. Safety policy and the Project’s relevant standards (CENELEC, IEC…)
• Establish the Safety Assurance Plan, Safety Analysis, Hazard Log, Safety Report and other applicable deliverable’s
• Build the System Safety Case, integrating the Safety Cases of the associated products and / or generic applications, and ensure its completeness and acceptance
• Convince customers / national safety authority / partners / consultants / safety assessors of the Safety assurance approach and methodology for safety management & safety demonstration
• Defend Safety Case argumentation in front of internal and external assessors; define and followup action plans to close the findings of the assessor.
