Senior Sales Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Field sales engineering position selling Equinix solutions to new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven years of customer facing experience in related industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT preferred

Responsibilities:

Technical Consulting and Sales Support

  • Identifies customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements and maps to Equinix solutions
  • Utilizes understanding of Equinix products and services to deliver pitch on Equinix solutions
  • Analyses situations and data on problems of moderate scope independently
  • Provides full support for small to mid-size customer meetings and tours

Solution Design and Deliverables

  • Provides technical solution design expertise to all assigned Sales account executives and customers
  • Exercises judgment to solve customer issues that are outside of standard procedures appropriately
  • Supports complex RFI/P/Q preparation as requested by Sales Representatives and customers
  • Develops all deliverables for the customer with minimal oversight from Sales Engineering Management and/or peers

Global Customer Support

  • Supports Global (GAM), Platform Alliance and Partner customers across the EMEA region
  • Working as part of Account Teams on a set of assigned accounts
  • Take ownership of developing customer relationships
  • Builds relationships with customers both in person and remotely
  • Proactively working with Account Teams and customers to develop strategy with customers
  • Owners of the full sell-to Equinix technical engagement of both our core and digital portfolio

Customer Service

  • Communicates with customers (internal and external) in a professional, friendly and effective manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Supports pre-sales efforts for all company products and services
  • Provides good technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings and trade shows
  • Able to problem solve a variety issue and execute solutions

Business and Market Expertise

  • Demonstrates a full understanding of Equinix core and digital services
  • Possesses industry knowledge and familiarity with the competitive landscape

Collaboration / Communication

  • Assists sales teams in efforts to earn new business and maintain existing customer relationships
  • Collaborates with internal teams (CSM, OM, IM, Ops, etc.) across EMEA to ensure smooth project transition from pre-sales to post-sales
  • Active participant in cultivating positive culture on the team
  • Demonstrates good presentation skills

Leadership

  • Provides feedback on various business opportunities and issues
  • A leader in the GTST organisation, supporting internal projects and providing SME insights to the business
