JOB SUMMARY

Primarily provides pre-sales technical consultancy for the development and implementation of complex solutions. Utilizes broad industry knowledge and expertise in finding products and solutions to meet customer needs. Prepares detailed product specifications and designs for the development and implementation of customer solutions. Provides consultation to prospective customers during customer meetings, tours, assessments and validations. Customer-facing, capable of customer demand creation and cross-regional coordination and collaboration. Can provide post-sales technical expertise during installation and contract-fulfilment.
Knowledge & Application: Develops professional expertise, applies company policies & procedures to resolve a variety of issues.Determines a course of action based on guidelines & modifies processes & methods as required.
Complexity & Problem Solving: Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied & routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.Applies learned techniques & contributes to analysis & investigation to solve problems.
Discretion & Impact: Exercises judgment within defined procedures & practices to determine appropriate action.Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
Collaboration and Interaction: Builds productive internal/external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions.Focuses on providing standard professional advice & creating initial reports/analyzes for review by experienced team professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
    The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
    United States - MI1 Miami : 113,000 - 169,000 USD / Annual
    United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 113,000 - 169,000 USD / Annual
    United States - LA4 Los Angeles : 125,000 - 187,000 USD / Annual
    Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
    The targeted pay range listed reflects On-Target Earnings or OTE, which is base pay plus commissions, and does not include equity or benefits. Equity may be offered depending on the position.
Responsibilities

Technical Consulting and Sales Support

  • Identifies customers’ business needs, challenges, and technical requirements and maps to Equinix solutions
  • Utilizes understanding of Equinix products and services to deliver a pitch on Equinix solutions
  • Analyzes situations and data on problems of moderate scope independently
  • Provides full support - customer meetings and tours

Solution Design and Deliverables

  • Provides technical solution design expertise to all assigned Sales account executives
  • Exercises judgment to solve customer issues that are outside of standard procedures appropriately
  • Supports moderately complex RFI/P/Q preparation as requested by Sales Representatives
  • Develops all deliverables for the customer with minimal oversight from Sales Engineering Management and/or peers

Customer Service

  • Communicates with customers (internal and external) in a professional, friendly, and effective manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Supports pre-sales efforts for all company products and services
  • Provides strong technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings, and trade shows
  • Able to problem-solve a variety of issues and execute solutions

Business and Market Expertise

  • Demonstrates a full understanding of Equinix data center, Network, and Cloud products and services
  • Possesses industry knowledge and familiarity with the competitive landscape

Collaboration / Communication

  • Assists sales teams in efforts to earn new business and maintain existing customer relationships
  • Collaborates with internal teams (CSM, OM, IM, Ops, etc.) to ensure smooth project transition from pre-sales to post-sales
  • Active participant in cultivating a positive culture on the team
  • Demonstrates good presentation skills
