About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: Our Energy & Industrials Corporate Sales team at S&P Global Market Intelligence partners exclusively with operating companies across the U.S., delivering data, analytics, and workflow solutions that power strategic and financial decision-making. We support Corporate Development, Strategy, Finance, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams within publicly traded and private corporations in the Energy and Industrials sectors. This is a growth-focused team responsible for both winning new logos and expanding relationships within existing corporate clients. We operate with a consultative, solutions-oriented mindset and collaborate closely with product specialists and client success partners to drive measurable business impact. The role will cover a defined multi-state U.S. territory. While the ideal candidate is based near Chicago or New York, we are open to strong candidates located anywhere in the United States. Responsibilities and Impact: • Drive revenue growth across a defined multi-state U.S. territory by acquiring new corporate logos and expanding wallet share within existing accounts. • Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities within Energy and Industrials corporations. • Develop and execute account plans to cross-sell and upsell additional solutions, including Capital IQ Pro, enterprise data feeds, Issuer Solutions, and Visible Alpha. • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with CFOs, Heads of Strategy, Corporate Development leaders, Treasury teams, and Investor Relations professionals. • Lead consultative sales engagements by diagnosing client workflows and aligning solutions to support M&A, capital allocation strategy, peer benchmarking, earnings preparation, and competitive intelligence. • Partner cross-functionally with product specialists, customer success, and implementation teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term client satisfaction. • Maintain disciplined pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and consistent CRM hygiene. • Consistently achieve or exceed quarterly and annual new business and expansion sales targets. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates) S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $104,435 to $127,544. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. Basic Required Qualifications: • 7+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in financial data, SaaS, technology, or capital markets-related solutions. • Proven track record of acquiring new logos and growing existing accounts in complex, multi-stakeholder corporate environments. • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding annual revenue quotas. • Experience managing a multi-state territory with a strategic, proactive prospecting approach. • Strong executive presence and the ability to engage and influence senior corporate stakeholders. • Willingness to travel within assigned U.S. territory as needed. • Preferred location near Chicago or New York, though not required. Additional Preferred Qualifications: • Experience selling financial intelligence platforms such as Capital IQ, Visible Alpha, enterprise data feeds, or similar workflow solutions. • Established relationships within Energy and/or Industrials corporate sectors. • Understanding of corporate finance, M&A processes, capital markets activity, and investor relations workflows. • Experience negotiating and structuring enterprise-level agreements.
