POSITION SUMMARY:

Our client is seeking an experienced Salesforce Functional Expert to lead the strategic assessment of Salesforce’s applicability and potential implementation within a higher education retirement system. This role will be instrumental in evaluating existing business processes, identifying opportunities for digital transformation, and recommending how Salesforce can streamline member services, case management, stakeholder communications, and retirement lifecycle workflows. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of Salesforce’s platform capabilities, particularly within the public sector or retirement/pension systems, and is skilled at bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is typically required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role is generally expected.
  • Salesforce Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce platforms, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud, is often required.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiency in Salesforce functionalities, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud, to optimize workflows and enhance user experiences.
  • Ability to create clear and concise documentation, such as requirement gathering notes, process flows, user stories, and training materials, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating requirement gathering and solution implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to analyze complex business processes and data flows, identifying opportunities for optimization and recommending effective solutions.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, such as Agile Scrum, to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of Salesforce solutions.
  • Proficiency in handling and analyzing data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and alignment with organizational goals within the Salesforce platform.
  • Deep understanding of business processes and the ability to recommend improvements and efficiencies within Salesforce to align with organizational objectives.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce development tools, such as Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning, to customize and enhance Salesforce applications effectively.
  • Understanding of integrating Salesforce with other systems (e.g., ERP, marketing platforms) and experience with data migration processes to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
  • Capacity to identify, analyze, and resolve business and system issues, ensuring that Salesforce solutions effectively address organizational challenges.
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest Salesforce releases, industry best practices, and emerging trends, adapting solutions to meet evolving business needs.
  • Capability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including Salesforce developers, project managers, and end-users, fostering a team-oriented environment to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes, data flows, and stakeholder needs within the Higher Education Retirement System.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage Salesforce (e.g., Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud) to optimize workflows, improve data management, enhance user experience, and drive member engagement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, define use cases, and map business processes.
  • Recommend and configure appropriate Salesforce modules to meet organizational needs, ensuring alignment with system interoperability and security/compliance requirements.
  • Provide expertise in Salesforce best practices for implementation, customization, and integration with other systems.
  • Develop functional recommendations, business cases, and ROI analyses for proposed Salesforce solutions.
  • Create a detailed Salesforce adoption roadmap, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Support post-assessment activities, including overseeing the implementation of Salesforce solutions and ensuring smooth user adoption through training and support.
