ABOUT THIS JOB

We are looking for a Senior Human Resources Advisor on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months Maternity cover.
The role reports to the Schools HR Business Partner in the Schools HR Advisory Service which is part of the wider Human Resources and Organisational Development Directorate.
The Schools HR Advisory Service is a small Team that provides a comprehensive HR Advisory support to Schools across the Borough delivering operational support alongside high-level strategic planning to facilitate improvements in both individual and organisational performance.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

  • providing professional HR advice and guidance covering all aspects of the employee life cycle and people management processes in line with Service Level Agreements, business rules and as directed by more senior colleagues
  • ensuring that all customer requests are dealt with professionally, and proactively escalating more complex and problematic cases to the appropriate senior colleague to enable rapid resolution ensuring that comprehensive information is recorded
  • supporting with the delivery of change through post Re-Design, Job Descriptions and Evaluation
  • managing small HR projects within agreed project frameworks that are delivered to the agreed cost, time and quality parameters.

Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days working in the Borough with the requirement to visit Schools.

ABOUT YOU

Our ideal candidate will be a Member or Associate Member of the CIPD and/or have a Corporate Management qualification which includes HR.
In addition to this, the successful candidate will be competent in and understand the professional issues relating to the range of HR Schools support services, as well as specialist knowledge in one broad area, either Change and Development or Employment and Employee Relations and have the ability to build strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners. They will also have the ability to work pro-actively and find solutions and the ability to use their own initiative to organise and manage their own workload, under pressure; prioritising work against competing and changing demands to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
