Senior Scientific Editor – Job Summary

The Senior Scientific Editor plays a pivotal role in shaping high-impact research at St. Jude by providing expert editorial support for clinical and basic science materials destined for top-tier journals and funding agencies.
This role requires a deep understanding of the unique requirements of various scientific documents—including manuscripts, grant applications, and reports—and the ability to deliver tailored editorial guidance. The editor also advises investigators and researchers across the institution on writing strategy, structure, and submission planning to maximize impact and clarity.
In addition to mentoring new editorial staff (as requested by the Director of Scientific Editing), the Senior Scientific Editor contributes to institutional publications and supports the development of materials for seminars and other scientific communications.
