MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in environmental science or a related science (e.g. chemistry, geography).
  • The position requires the successful candidate to have a valid G license or equivalent. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that s/he has a valid driver’s license upon being hired.

SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION AND REPORTING SKILLS

  • Proven scientific writing and presentation skills to prepare and deliver technical reports, briefing notes, and publications for diverse audiences, including senior management and scientific communities.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific findings into clear, actionable recommendations and policy-relevant insight.
  • Experience in designing and developing data-driven dashboards and visualizations for environmental and scientific data, with the ability to distill complex information and communicate key insights to diverse audiences.

LEADERSHIP AND COORDINATION ABILITIES

  • Experience leading scientific initiatives, coordinating technical teams, and guiding staff in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
  • Ability to set priorities, ensure quality assurance, and represent the ministry on intergovernmental committees.

INTERPERSONAL AND COLLABORATIVE SKILLS

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work well in teams and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including other jurisdictions, agencies, and the public.
  • Ability to foster collaboration and share expertise across multidisciplinary teams and governmental levels.
