The Position As a member of the AI, Data and Digital (AIDD) team, you will partner with research scientists and data experts at China Innovation Center of Roche (CICoR) on drug projects from target identification to lead discovery and early development. You have strong biology knowledge and computational skills in combination with an excellent capacity to communicate and lead in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will employ a combination of analytical capability including bioinformatics/AI skills and disease biology knowledge to provide timely bioinformatics studies to impact decision makings in drug projects. Partner with AI researchers and bioinformaticians to develop novel computational methods to infer causality in disease progression. Work closely with biologists to solve biological questions and validate computational findings. Contribute to drug projects by providing support on target identification and validation, biomarker discovery, patient stratification, etc. Analyze multi-omics and phenotyping data from research studies, clinical trials and real world databases to identify disease-driving cell types, pathways, and genes. Propose drug targets based on the biology insights derived from data and suggest validation experiments. Provide literature/text analysis, focusing on biomedical and competitor information. Have the opportunities to collaborate with data scientists and informaticians at other Roche sites to contribute to drug projects as well as data & analytics projects. Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, biology, computational biology or a relevant field. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. Passion for in-depth understanding of biological questions and finding plausible answers with data analytics. Solid biology knowledge, being able to communicate comfortably with biologists. Knowledge in Immunology is highly desirable. Excellent analytical capability, being able to identify key questions and come up with innovative solutions for complex problems. Strong bioinformatics experience (omics, pathway, network analysis, etc.) with good programming skills in Python or R. Experience in applying AI/ML/LLM methods to support drug discovery or translational science. Experience with biomarker discovery and translation is a plus. Experience with clinical or real world data is a plus. Enjoying biotech working culture with great collaborative spirit.
