INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE:

At AstraZeneca, we turn ambitious ideas into life-changing medicines with our teams around the world. As a leader in Oncology, we are dedicated to improving the lives of people with cancer. Our dedication to patients drives significant investment in future-facing cell therapies. By combining scientific creativity, collaboration, and sophisticated technologies, we’re building new possibilities for both solid tumours and blood cancers. Together, we are moving science forward and crafting hope for patients everywhere.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are excited to welcome a Senior Scientist to our Cell Therapy Biotechnology team for a fixed-term maternity cover of 12 months. This role offers the chance to work alongside skilled colleagues and leading partners, making a real difference in cancer research.
You will use your knowledge in tumour immunology, immune cell biology, or cell therapies to help develop new treatment approaches. Your work will include designing and testing CAR-T cell therapies, applying gene editing technologies like CRISPR, and using sophisticated cell models and immune assays. You will help refine and improve our discovery and validation platforms using automation and innovative laboratory models.
Collaboration is key in this team—you will share ideas and tackle challenges together with people from a range of backgrounds at AstraZeneca and beyond. Your contributions will be recognised through opportunities to present your findings, publish research, and connect with the wider scientific community.
At AstraZeneca, you will belong to a welcoming scientific community that values your curiosity, teamwork, and willingness to learn. Here, your ideas and efforts will support our shared mission: developing transformative medicines for patients.
