Description
About Grafton Sciences We’re building AI systems with general physical ability — the capacity to experiment, engineer, or manufacture anything. We believe achieving this is a key step toward building superintelligence. With deep technical roots and real-world progress at scale (e.g., a $42M NIH project), we’re pushing the frontier of physical AI. Joining us means inventing from first principles, owning real systems end to end, and helping build a capability the world has never had before. About the Role We’re seeking a Senior Scientist or Engineer with strong expertise in RNA structures, aptamers, oligo synthesis, or other adjacent fields. You’ll design and refine molecular workflows, develop assays and synthesis methods, and help integrate these capabilities into automated and computational workflows. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep molecular knowledge with the willingness to learn adjacent domains and contribute across a broad technical landscape. Responsibilities • Develop and optimize workflows involving RNA aptamers, oligo synthesis, biochemical assembly, or related molecular systems. • Design and execute experiments, analyze results, and refine protocols with rigor and speed. • Translate molecular processes into structured, automatable workflows that align with robotics, automation, and data systems. • Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to ensure molecular methods integrate smoothly into larger experimental or manufacturing pipelines. • Support cross-functional problem solving and step into adjacent technical areas as program needs evolve. Qualifications • Strong background in RNA structures, aptamers, oligo synthesis, biochemistry, chemistry, or molecular engineering. • Demonstrated ability to design and execute molecular experiments with high precision and interpret results across varied conditions. • Hands-on experience with synthesis workflows, structure manipulation, assay development, or biochemical optimization. • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams and work effectively in dynamic, interdisciplinary environments. • Curiosity and adaptability to learn new methods, tools, and domains beyond initial expertise. Above all, we look for candidates who can demonstrate world-class excellence. Compensation We offer competitive salary, meaningful equity, and benefits.
Responsibilities
The role involves developing and optimizing workflows related to RNA aptamers and oligo synthesis, as well as translating molecular processes into automatable workflows. Collaboration with engineering and AI teams is essential to integrate molecular methods into larger experimental pipelines.
