Description

Our mission is to develop therapies that empower the immune system to combat neurodegeneration and our team is focused on developing treatments for some of the most challenging diseases facing our society. We are supported in this mission by experienced and accomplished scientists and clinicians, a novel portfolio of programs, leading healthcare investors, and pharma company partners, who share in our commitment to bettering the lives of patients and realizing a world where we make brain disorders history
As a Senior Scientist specializing in Spatial Transcriptomics for the study of neurodegenerative diseases, you will lead and contribute to our research efforts aimed at unraveling the intricate molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying these conditions. This position offers the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of research that has the potential to drive the development of novel therapeutic strategies for these devastating diseases.
Responsibilities include the development and execution of comprehensive research strategies to investigate the spatial gene expression patterns in neurodegenerative disease models, with a focus on understanding disease progression and potential therapeutic targets. You will oversee and actively engage in the generation of spatial transcriptomics data, from designing and optimizing experimental protocols to conducting experiments. You will collaborate closely with computational biologists, data scientists, and fellow researchers, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration to extract relevant insights from the data and drive innovative research for Alector’s therapeutic pipeline.
