Description

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior IT Scrum Master to join our Corporate Business Technology Team. At CDM Smith, we see the value of what Artificial Intelligence (AI) can bring to our company, and we are actively adopting and implementing co-pilots and Gen AI technologies to boost productivity across our business. This individual will work with our AI delivery teams to ensure the successful delivery of our AI solutions. An ideal candidate will be a seasoned Agile professional who is a critical thinker, has exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, is proactive, and has experience working with AI/ML teams and guiding them through iterative development cycles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile best practices and foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to refine, prioritize, and manage the backlog.
  • Oversee issue and risk management.
  • Ensure the team is well-instructed in Agile methods, understands their individual duties, and is committed to the project.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and ensure seamless integration across various workstreams.
  • Coordinate work, manage dependencies, and resolve obstacles across vendor and internal teams.
  • Utilize Agile metrics such as team velocity and burndown charts to measure team performance and drive improvements.
  • Collaborate with the delivery team to plan upcoming deployments and coordinate with the Product Owner to communicate these deployments.
  • Assist in managing our production support process (monitoring ServiceNow tickets, coordinating fixes with the delivery team, and communicating to end users).
  • Provide regular updates to Stakeholders on sprint progress, risks, and deliverables.
  • Ensure delivery teams effectively utilize scrum tools and maintain up-to-date cards throughout each sprint.
  • Attend various project meetings throughout the day (end user meetings, training sessions, requirements sessions, etc.).
  • Identify problem areas and recommend process enhancements for smooth project execution.
  • Ensure that the team meets deadlines and achieves the intended goals.
  • Prevent scope creep and over commitment by assisting with estimation and creation of subtasks .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or a related specialization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in in Software Development, Engineering or a related specialization preferred.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong Project Management and Leadership skills.
  • Independent project ownership and team leadership.
  • Proven ability to coaching, motivate, and manage multiple teams.
  • Experience working with global teams and managing dependencies.
  • Proficient working knowledge in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Experience leading effective scrum events and tracking metrics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively across teams and with stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration experience with cross-functional teams including data scientists, AI engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to bridge technical and non-technical gaps.
  • Experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Rally, or Azure DevOps.
  • Basic AI knowledge and AI initiative delivery.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
