Join our Information Security Engineering Group Akamai's Information Security is responsible for safeguarding Akamai, its customers, and the Internet worldwide. Akamai is seeking an experienced Senior Security Engineer to drive Cloud and Security Posture Management initiatives and improvements. Shape Internet Security In this role, you will collaborate with industry-leading security experts on a global team. As a Senior Security Engineer, you will be responsible for: * Leading gap analysis between AWS/Azure/GCP security controls and Akamai Cloud (Linode) equivalents, identifying coverage gaps and remediation paths * Contributing to consolidating CSPM, SSPM, and Exposure Management into a unified posture layer with shared severity and prioritization models * Driving CSPM implementation and continuous improvement using Wiz.io * Supporting osquery based threat hunting across Linode infrastructure. Conducting network and application security assessments to identify risks and provide mitigation strategies * Interfacing with other teams, and driving improvements to our telemetry, detection, and response capabilities Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: * Bring 6 to 9 years of experience in information security, with significant focus on cloud security. * Demonstrate expertise in two cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), covering security services, IAM models, networking, and control frameworks. * Demonstrate broad and deep knowledge of the network security domain, including advanced TCP/IP and micro-segmentation concepts. * Have solid knowledge of operating system internals (Linux) and network fundamentals * Demonstrate Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and data processing * Demonstrate scripting expertise and previous involvement in developing or analyzing Internet protocols and related technologies.
