About the role NV2 Security Clearance essential Canberra based, 5 days onsite Experience in Defence/Government preferred We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Security Engineer to shape secure, resilient networks for our Defence client owning the process from inception to delivery across multiple environments, multiple technology stacks and across multiple security requirements. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Monitor network data streams and event log data to ensure that gateway operations are optimized and maintained, were identified. Participate in Vulnerability Management to ensure that all vulnerabilities in the network are identified and treated in accordance with set guidelines. Ensure that service availability meets or exceeds customer service availability guidelines. Maintains agreed security records and documentation. Investigate identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommends any required actions. Assist users in defining their access rights and privileges and administers logical access controls and security systems. Maintain security records and documentation. Cover and own the areas of: Monitoring, Incident/Service Requests/ Process improvements and Development and Security Compliance Requirements: AGSVA Security Clearance (NV2 Required) Network experience (CCNA / CCNP preferred) with switches, routers, SNAT/NAT General Firewall experience preferably a mixture of Stateful and Layer 7 (FortiGate, Palo Alto, Checkpoint Preferred) Firewalls Proxy (Palo Alto and Bluecoat Preferred) experience and Linux/Unix experience - understanding of commands and concepts is required Mail experience and understanding the setup and maintenance of Servers and clients (Clearswift, Cisco ASA Preferred) Troubleshooting experience - the ability to perform root cause analysis on network/computer issues on clients, servers and network equipment. A general understanding of Computer/Network Security Policies and enforcement Load Balancing experience. Experience in supporting and maintaining Windows and RHEL Servers and associated domains.
