JOB SUMMARY

As a Senior Security Engineer focused on Web Application Firewall (WAF) capabilities you will be involved in designing, building, and configuring Telstra’s WAF security platform to protect critical internal and customer-facing web applications.
This is a high-impact opportunity to shape a new function within the security engineering group, contributing to Telstra’s broader mission to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or IT.
  • Certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Juniper JNCIS/JNCIE, CISSP.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, engineering, and technical support of Telstra’s WAF platforms.
  • Define and configure security controls and policies to protect web applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Telstra and external vendors to align on technical and business objectives .
  • Develop test applications and assist application owners with troubleshooting.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, configuration, and implementation of WAF solutions.
  • Evaluate WAF products and contribute to technology roadmaps and standards.
  • Drive operational readiness and lifecycle management of WAF platforms.
  • Provide engineering consulting and contribute to incident response planning with Cyber Security teams.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and technical lead for WAF within the team.
