POSITION SUMMARY

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Service Engineer/Mechanic to join our mtu Power Systems team in Singapore. This role is pivotal in ensuring the commissioning, installation, maintenance, and overhaul of mtu products and associated equipment. You will be a trusted technical expert, delivering reliable services to customers and driving continuous improvement in safety, technical standards, and customer satisfaction.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on service experience in commissioning, maintenance, and repair of diesel/gas engines, generators, or heavy equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in workshop and field environments.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, engineering drawings, and service documentation.
  • Good communication skills with customer-facing experience.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSHA standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience with mtu engines or power generation systems .
  • Knowledge in hybrid, electrified, or digitalized power solutions.
  • Team leadership or mentoring experience.
  • WSQ/NEBOSH safety certifications or equivalent.
Responsibilities
  • Undertake independently the commissioning, installation, maintenance, and repair/overhaul of mtu products and associated equipment at the workshop or at customer sites in line with mtu manuals and given instructions.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical matters, ensuring service completion to the acceptance of customers and supervisors, supported with service/investigation reports where applicable.
  • Liaise with supervisors and in-house technical specialists for guidance and knowledge sharing as needed.
  • Continuously develop and update own skills and knowledge to meet evolving job requirements through structured training and self-learning.
  • Advise, instruct, and train team members in carrying out assigned tasks effectively, including the use of mtu documentation, tools, and customer drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations under the WSHA and internal WHS Committee guidelines, especially when performing on-site or customer-premise work.
  • Perform additional work as assigned to support business and customer needs.
