About The Role
The Senior Front-End Developer is a hands-on technical role responsible for delivering exceptional e-commerce experiences by leveraging Shopify themes and frameworks. You will lead the implementation of customized Shopify storefronts, ensuring pixel-perfect design translation, clean code, and optimal performance. This role requires a deep understanding of Shopify’s ecosystem, modern front-end technologies, and best practices in e-commerce development. You will work across the entire Shopify stack—online, POS, APIs, and custom app development—while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients to ensure alignment with business objectives. This position requires expert-level Shopify experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively balance quality, timelines, and business needs.

What You’ll Do

• Own frontend feature development and ensure high-quality execution for Shopify projects.
• Build responsive Shopify storefronts using Liquid, JavaScript, React, CSS/SASS/CSS frameworks, and modern front-end technologies.
• Translate high-fidelity designs and complex business requirements into actionable, scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with clients to understand business objectives, use cases, and product roadmaps to guide development decisions.
• Distill complex requirements into clear, actionable tasks and delegate to engineering team members as needed.
• Lead headless commerce initiatives, including building with frameworks like Hydrogen, Next.js, and React.
• Optimize performance, accessibility, and SEO for all front-end implementations.
• Work with Shopify APIs, Functions, Extensions, and other ecosystem components to deliver advanced features.
• Integrate third-party systems such as CMS (e.g., Contentful), ERP (e.g., Netsuite), and subscription solutions (e.g., Recharge).
• Mentor and lead junior engineers, conducting code reviews and promoting best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals and delivery timelines are aligned.
• Identify risks proactively, provide actionable solutions, and ensure project deadlines are met.
• Contribute to internal development processes, tools, and documentation to enhance team productivity and collaboration.

Skills & Experience

• Senior-level development experience with frontend frameworks including Liquid, JavaScript, React, CSS, GraphQL, REST, and Git.
• Strong understanding of Shopify development, including themes, APIs, apps, functions, and extensions.
• Experience working with JIRA/Confluence or other ticket management systems.
• 3–5 years of experience working in Shopify development.
• Strong communication skills, oral and written; experienced in writing technical documentation and presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough knowledge of web performance, web accessibility, API request handling, component structure, and design systems.
• Thorough understanding of user behaviours and marketing sciences in eCommerce.
• Comprehensive understanding of the lifecycle and methodologies of software development.
• Expertise in software documentation and technical writing.
• Proven ability to validate project estimates and approaches for assigned work.
• Demonstrated high personal productivity and ability to manage commitments across multiple projects.
• Ability to mentor and lead engineers on project teams while fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
