SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO ENABLE SUCCESS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

  • Experience in Australian Defence operation and terminology.
  • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
  • Ability to make adjustments or recommended enhancement to systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of work area.
  • Understanding and application of technical theories and concepts within the field of simulator technician.
  • A demonstrated understanding of and experience in fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • A demonstrated understanding of and experience as a JFO or JTAC, coupled with technical qualifications in a related discipline.
  • Computer literacy and information technology competent.
  • Qualifications in Training and Assessment or substantial experience in developing and delivery of training material in practical operation.
  • Proven background in customer engagement, customer service orientation with communication skills – verbal and written to meet requirements.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR NEW ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Provision of specialist maintenance services to simulator equipment.
  • Provide advise, develop, plan, execute, instruct and assist personnel on site with training scenarios as requested by the Unit. Including act as a role player for ADF to produce training outcomes, e.g.. Pilot or UAV Operators.
  • Producing simulation system reports, meeting key performance indicators for technical compliance and contributing to system health indicators for the site equipment.
  • Maintaining a strong customer relationship across all working levels which includes actioning customer requests and deficiency reports.
  • Maintaining record of the usage and problems arising with the simulator report database, as well as, maintaining bookings register access to the simulator.
  • Provision of support activities and on-the-job training to ADF personnel in the operation of simulation systems.
  • Undertaking maintenance tasks for simulation systems including but not limited to, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, calibration, testing and any resulting removal or replacement of components of the system.
  • Installation, testing and commissioning of software patches as required, as well as liaising with the Operator Leads for on-site equipment requirements.
  • Undertaking travel as required, within Australia, to fulfil the requirements of this role.
  • Other duties as deemed relevant to program and operational requirements and within the technical competency of this position.
  • Sydney metropolitan area travel may be required time to time.
