Position Title: Senior Site Director, Tri-Cities and Yakima Reports to: Regional Manager of Recreational Tennis Supervises: Site Directors and Instructors at RecTennis programming Location: Local parks, schools, and/or recreational centers in the Tri-Cities and Yakima area Status: Part Time; Hourly; Non-Exempt; Seasonal   Established in 1904, the United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest (USTA PNW) is a 501c3 non-profit organization working to promote and develop the growth of tennis by providing access for all. As one of the 17 sections of the USTA, the national governing body of the sport of tennis, USTA PNW serves more than 1.3M tennis players, 200+ tennis facilities, and provides low-cost RecTennis afterschool and summer parks programs to 40,000+ participants. USTA PNW has cultivated over 300 community partnerships including schools, public parks, recreation, and shared spaces across four states. Key Responsibilities:  * Program Delivery & On-Site Leadership: * Create a welcoming, safe, and fun learning environment for all participants. * Lead and oversee the high-quality delivery of recreational programs at assigned locations. * Act as the primary on-site lead for program delivery, ensuring smooth operations and consistency. * Step in as backup support for other site locations as needed, ensuring consistent program delivery. Staff Support & Mentorship: * Actively engage with staff on-site, providing real-time guidance and troubleshooting. * Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and address challenges as they arise. * Ensure that staff members arrive on time, clock in and out, and maintain a positive and professional demeanor. Site Operations & Logistics: * Oversee site setup, activity planning, and clean-up to ensure program readiness for the next session. * Monitor and maintain equipment on-site, ensuring it is used properly and safely. * Communicate any operational challenges to the Regional Manager as needed. Parent & Community Communication: * Communicate professionally with parents, partners, peers, staff, and community organizers. * Serve as a primary point of contact for on-site inquiries and minor concerns during programs. Program Curriculum & Instruction: * Help deliver the program curriculum and provide hands-on instruction and assistance at program sites. * Support staff in implementing the curriculum to ensure consistent and high-quality participant experiences. Program Compliance & Safety: * Ensure that all USTA PNW policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed. * Act in partnership with the Regional Manager to address program changes due to extreme weather or unforeseen conditions. Other Duties: * Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and participant satisfaction. On-Court vs. Off-Court details: * 75% On-Court  * 25% Off-Court  (preparing daily lesson plans and activities, setting up for day and cleaning up after camp) * Subject to change with business needs.  Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees Site Director and Instructors to ensure quality and safe programming occurs across all park and school sites.  External Relationships: Will partner with Regional Managers of Recreational Tennis, as well as all RecTennis leadership, payroll departments, onboarding specialists, etc. Internal Relationships: Maintains high quality customer service with parents, participants, and public. Travel Demands: Staff are responsible for the travel to and from the job site every work day.  Key Performance Indicators: When reviewing this position during the year, the following will serve as performance indicators:  * Pre and Post Season/Program Reviews performed by Supervisor (if applicable) * Achievement of specific objectives for areas of responsibility.  * Evidence of high quality customer service.   * Evidence of performance of major duties.  * Evidence of performance as a productive team member.  * Evidence of effective internal and external relationships.  * Evidence of delivering the USTA PNW mission.  Qualifications: * Experience teaching tennis and management is preferred. * Experience working with children and adults in a teaching setting is preferred. * Dependability, communication skills, and an excellent work ethic. * Ability to accept guidance and supervision. * Desire to work with children and act as a positive role model. * Ability to lead and direct participants activities and transitions. * Desire, passion, and ability to promote and grow the game of tennis. * Ability and comfort of collaborating and taking direction. * Must have the ability to pass a background check. * Ability to make quick decisions that best serve participants. * Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects.  * Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, partners, vendors. Conditions of hire: * Must have the ability to continually pass a background check. * Must complete the USTA Safe Sport online education course. Link provided with offer of employment.  Online course takes approximately 90 minutes.  Required refreshers annually. * Must be able to verify authorization to work in the United States through a 3rd part partner. * Must have ability to be SafePlay approved and remain SafePlay approved throughout USTA PNW tenure. * Must sign the USTA PNW Seasonal Offer Letter and Seasonal Employee Handbook.   Physical Requirements and Work Environment: * The ability to lift 20-45 pounds regularly. * The ability to squat and bend over regularly. * The ability to carry out repetitive motions regularly. * The ability to lift and carry awkward items from one location to another. * The ability to respond quickly to sounds and visual cues (such as alarms and/or safety concerns both on and off court). * The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. * The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. * The ability to work in extreme weather and indoor/outdoor conditions including school gymnasiums. * The ability to work for length of shift (with breaks and lunches given per policy). * Off-court hours will be performed at the employee's home office environment or public spaces as needed.
