About the job

Senior Site Reliability EngineerDublin | 12-Month Contract | €707/day | Hybrid

Are you a Senior Site Reliability Engineer who enjoys working across cloud infrastructure, observability, automation and production engineering?

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a high-performing Business Operations engineering function supporting critical, large-scale technology services in Dublin.

This is an opportunity for an experienced SRE to go beyond traditional production support and play a key role in building reliability into services from the outset. You'll work closely with engineering and development teams to improve production readiness, strengthen observability, automate operational processes and continuously enhance the resilience, scalability and performance of live services.

The Role:You'll be joining an environment where reliability is treated as an engineering discipline rather than simply a support function.

The role combines hands-on technical engineering with the opportunity to act as a reliability subject matter expert, influencing how applications are designed, deployed and operated in production.

You'll be involved throughout the lifecycle — from operational design and production readiness through to incident response, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

  • What You'll Be DoingTake ownership of key aspects of production reliability and readiness across critical applications and services.
  • Partner with development teams early in the lifecycle to embed reliability, resilience and operational best practices.
  • Use Splunk and Dynatrace to monitor, investigate and improve application and platform performance.
  • Analyse metrics, logs and traces to identify emerging issues and proactively reduce operational risk.
  • Work across AWS and cloud infrastructure to support scalable, resilient and highly available services.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents and contribute to root-cause analysis and blameless post-mortems.
  • Identify recurring issues and drive preventative improvements rather than simply resolving symptoms.
  • Develop automation and scripts to reduce manual operational processes and improve incident response.
  • Support capacity planning, performance optimisation, resilience and disaster recovery activities.
  • Work within established ITSM processes, including incident, problem and change management.
  • Contribute to operational standards, technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of automation, continuous improvement and proactive reliability engineering.

What We're Looking ForWe're looking for an experienced engineer with approximately 7–8+ years' experience across Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations or a closely related discipline.

The key requirements are:AWS / CloudStrong hands-on experience supporting and managing production workloads within AWS or another major cloud environment.ObservabilityStrong experience with Splunk and Dynatrace, using monitoring and observability data to detect, diagnose and prevent production issues.ITSM / Service ManagementExperience working within an enterprise ITSM environment, ideally with BMC Helix, and a strong understanding of incident, problem and change management.

The Right BackgroundWe're particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate genuine ownership of production environments.

You'll understand the business impact of downtime, be comfortable troubleshooting complex incidents under pressure and, importantly, be able to move beyond short-term fixes to identify the underlying causes and drive lasting improvements.

You'll also be comfortable working with development and engineering teams, influencing technical decisions and helping teams build services that are reliable by design.

You don't need to tick every technology box. Strong experience across AWS, Splunk, Dynatrace and enterprise ITSM is the core requirement.

Interested? If you're an experienced SRE with a strong background in AWS, observability and enterprise production environments, I'd be keen to have a confidential conversation.

This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to work within a complex, global technology environment where reliability, automation and engineering excellence are genuinely valued.

If you're interested, please get in touch with your latest CV and I'll be happy to provide further details.
