Are you an experienced and passionate Social Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Do you thrive in a supportive, compassionate environment where excellence, person-centred care, integrity, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do?
Saint Catherine’s is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team, providing vital support to patients and families across our hospice services. This is a key leadership role with both clinical and strategic responsibilities.

Responsibilities

As our Senior Social Worker, you will:

  • Lead and manage a small team of Social Workers, offering supervision, mentorship, and professional development support.
  • Promote excellence in social work practice, delivering high-quality, holistic support to patients and families facing life-limiting illness and bereavement.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributing to patient-centred care planning and ethical decision-making.
  • Provide education and training both within the hospice and externally, supporting the development of best practices in palliative and end-of-life social care.
  • Serve as the Organisational Lead for Safeguarding Adults and Children, ensuring robust safeguarding policies and practices across the organisation.
  • Act as the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Lead, supporting staff through guidance, education, supervision, audits, and service development.
