Job Introduction
We are looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker to work within the First Contact Adult Social Care and All Age Carers Team.
This key role will take responsibility for the working across Older People, Physical and Learning Disabilities, and all age Carers assessments, as such we are seeking experienced Advanced Practitioners with a range of knowledge and skills across this broad agenda.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

  • Supervise and support the professional development of social workers and social care assessors, including co-working cases and mentoring team members.
  • Organise and adapt daily duties using initiative and sound judgement, while responding to unpredictable changes and upholding SCC policies and procedures.
  • Oversee quality assurance of statutory documentation and champion Strengths Based Practice across the service.
  • Lead and contribute to best practice development, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled promptly and in line with legislative guidance.
  • Motivate staff to deliver adult engagement objectives and maintain a flexible, healthy work-life balance within the team.
  • Carry out statutory duties under the Care Act, including assessments, and participate in inter-agency Best Interest Assessor and AMHP rotas.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • demonstrable management experience.
  • knowledge and experience of working within Adult Social Care.
  • knowledge and experience of applying the Mental Capacity Act assessments, Best Interest Assessments/DOLs.
  • knowledge of mental health legislation including section 117.
  • understanding of the principles of the different funding streams available to support adults.
  • experience of working as part of a team, in developing the professional practice of colleagues.

We require you to be flexible to work at any other location across the service, as and when required and be available to work out of hours, evenings and weekends when required.
