The London Borough of Havering is currently seeking experienced and committed Senior Social Worker to join their Youth Justice team. This is a vital role where your skills will directly influence outcomes for vulnerable young people and support positive change.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

You’ll work directly with children and young people involved with or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. From assessments and supervision planning to evening panels and weekend court duty, your role is crucial in reducing reoffending and improving life chances.
This is an on-site role based at the Town Hall in Romford, with some evening and weekend working required to support youth panels and court duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with children at various stages of the youth justice pathway
  • Complete assessments, risk management plans, and reports
  • Support young people to attend panel meetings and engage with reparation work
  • Liaise with multi-agency partners, courts, and families to ensure joined-up support
  • Participate in evening and weekend sessions as required
  • Contribute to safeguarding planning, case reviews, and systemic interventions
  • Offer informal supervision to volunteers engaged in group and reparation work
