About the Assignment We are looking for a highly experienced Software Asset Manager to take a strategic lead role within a large international organization with a complex, multi-vendor IT landscape. In this assignment, you will own the assessment, governance, and optimization of software licensing across multiple business units—balancing compliance, commercial value, and risk management. You will work closely with stakeholders in IT, procurement, legal, finance, and the business, and you will contribute with executive-level insights to support decision-making around licensing, renewals, and long-term SAM initiatives. Job Description Manage and optimize enterprise-wide software licensing portfolios across business units Ensure compliance with vendor terms and contractual agreements Lead and coordinate software vendor audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up Identify cost-saving opportunities and reduce underutilized licenses Drive Software Asset Management initiatives aligned with IT and business objectives Develop and implement SAM governance frameworks, policies, and lifecycle processes Support negotiations for licensing agreements and renewals Provide executive-level reporting, licensing insights, and recommendations Forecast software costs and support licensing budget management Support hybrid and cloud licensing scenarios (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) Mentor junior team members and establish best practices within SAM Requirements Extensive experience in Software Asset Management in enterprise environments Deep knowledge of licensing models from major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, SAP, Adobe, VMware, Autodesk, Dassault/CATIA, Siemens, Figma) Proven experience leading vendor audits and ensuring licensing compliance Experience reviewing and negotiating software agreements and contracts Advanced knowledge of SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Open iT, or similar) Strong analytical skills, including reporting and license usage insights Experience working with license servers Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences Experience managing legal, contractual, and compliance risk related to software licensing Nice to have SAM certification Experience with license optimization and cost control initiatives Knowledge of cloud licensing models (Azure, Google Cloud, hybrid environments) Strong capability in data-driven license analysis and reporting Experience in governance, policy development, and lifecycle management Application Selections are made on an ongoing basis, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible.
