Job Description AECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Software Developer based out of our Raleigh, NC office, with the option to be remote. The successful candidate will utilize their design and development skills to deliver both cloud and desktop applications that are high quality, on time and within budget. The developer will participate in the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment of new software applications and will maintain and improve legacy software. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient algorithms that will leverage spatial and non-spatial data querying and processing. The candidate will work closely with technical and business staff to develop solutions. The ability of the candidate to learn topics in water resources engineering and flood mitigation will be needed. Due to the varying nature of our projects, our technology staff grow their skills rapidly since each solution requires new approaches and technology components. The typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Develop production-ready code based on detailed specifications, delivering leading edge geospatial solutions via cloud and desktop software applications Analyze business and system requirements to design and deliver effective, scalable software that meets client and organizational needs Evaluate the performance, reliability, and efficiency of existing systems, identifying opportunities to optimize them through innovative technologies and strategic approaches Design and implement automated unit and functional tests to ensure software quality and maintainability Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical approaches, troubleshoot issues, and deliver high-impact solution Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science or related area +4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C#, C++, or C, with a strong grasp of language-specific best practices Experience working with relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, including schema design and query optimization Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications in AWS or Azure cloud environments. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps, including branching strategies and collaborative workflows Strong understanding of object-oriented design and programming principles Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required Preferred Qualifications: MS degree in Computer Science or related area from an accredited university Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), including orchestration, provisioning, deployment, monitoring, auto-scaling, and performance tuning Proven experience with DevOps practices, including infrastructure automation, configuration management, and continuous delivery Production-level experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration Additional Information Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position Relocation is not available for this position About AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
