For our location in Darmstadt, Germany, we are looking for a Senior Software Developer* for Natural for z/OS.
If you are passionate about developing systems software, are familiar with the depths of the z/OS operating system and have several years of experience with the IBM Assembler and Java programming languages, this role would be the opportunity for you.

Essential Functions

  • Usage of advanced skills in IBM Assembler programming (on z/OS) and good skills in Java (z/OS) programming to develop, test, and maintain critical software applications.
  • Investigate and resolve software defects, ensuring high-quality deliverables and a robust software environment.
  • Analyze and optimize existing product code to improve performance, efficiency and reliability.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for all software development activities, including design specifications, code documentation, and testing procedures.
  • Working in a software development process using lean and agile principles.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Senior Software Developer with expertise in z/OS Assembler programming
  • In-depth knowledge of mainframe architecture, software development life cycle, and system integration
  • Advance experience with Db2 – both programing and administration
  • Good knowledge of Java on z/OS, including experience with JDBC, JNI and JZOS APIs
  • Good knowledge of JCL
  • Adabas/Natural experience would complete your profile
  • Passion for elegant, testable and maintainable code and openness to new technologies and methods
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues
