Tasks
You are a developer, mentor, and architect all in one. You identify problems before they escalate, translate business requirements into scalable solutions, and move your team forward through reviews and clear patterns.
Your tasks
- Development and design of backend solutions based on Java & Spring in modern, distributed system landscapes
- Active support of the development team through code reviews, introduction and establishment of architectural patterns, and technical support of colleagues.
- Co-design and further development of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Close coordination with product and project managers – you translate technical requirements into technical solutions.
- Proactive identification of risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities – you don't wait until problems escalate.
- Integration of systems from various service providers and partners into a consistent overall architecture
- Confident handling of AI-supported toolchains (e.g., Copilot, agent-based workflows) as well as classic development environments
qualification
Technical skills
- Excellent knowledge of Java & Spring (Spring Boot, Spring Integration or similar modules)
- Solid foundations in Docker & Kubernetes – you understand how your code is deployed and operated.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, ARGO-CD, Helm)
- Confident use of AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, agent-based toolchains) – and you know when to use them and when not to.
- A broad understanding of software architecture: Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, API design, patterns like API-First and Saga are not foreign concepts to you.
- Experience in system integration between different service providers, interfaces and heterogeneous system landscapes.
Soft skills – just as important to us as technology
- Excellent self-organization: You maintain an overview even with parallel tasks and changing priorities – without anyone having to ask you to.
- Strong communication skills: You can communicate technical information clearly and in a way that is appropriate for the target audience – both within the development team and in product and project meetings.
- Navigational confidence in complexity: You quickly find your way around established, heterogeneous systems and project structures without losing sight of the big picture.
- Team Enablement: You see it as part of your role to help other developers progress through reviews, patterns, and constructive feedback – not just to close your own ticket.
- Solution-oriented: You analyze problems objectively, prioritize pragmatically, and deliver implementable solutions – even under pressure.
- Proactive work style: You don't wait to be assigned tasks, but independently recognize where action is needed and communicate this openly.
Benefits
- 30 days of vacation and mobile working
- Subsidies for the Germany Ticket and WellPass
- A strong team with genuine cohesion
- Modern office in a prime location in Hamburg's Speicherstadt (warehouse district).
