Description

SUMMARY:

ViaOne Services is looking for a Sr. Software Developer with a proven history of success to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be familiar with all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and have experience in designing, coding, testing, and consistently managing applications, as well as mentoring development teams to establish consistent, reliable engineering productivity. This position is located 4 days per week in our North Dallas, TX office.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Extensive knowledge of database design and theories
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and architecture
  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)
  • Database management system software - Amazon DynamoDB; MongoDB; Oracle PL/SQL; etc.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven leader with knowledge in all aspects of SDLC.
  • Well-versed in current technological trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.
  • Excellent problem solver/analytical thinker, with great communication skills
  • Not only an engineer/coder, but someone who can coach a development team (master communicator).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5+ years of Software Development / Engineering
  • Combination of education and work experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
  • Deployment, testing, and support phases, including code review processes and policy governance surrounding review (full SDLC support)
  • Maintain health of development environments, tools, systems, and overall “uptime” of our application suite (DevOps)
  • Responsible for high-level design of software programs, applications, and documentation of the technical designs
  • Establish and govern software policies
  • Meet with manager and stakeholders to discuss software projects
  • Communication to leadership on impediments, including but not limited to code debugging/analysis, research, and development
  • Documentation of configurations and releases in knowledge repositories
  • Reviewing updated software systems, and train users on new/updated software
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Participate in daily Scrum sessions as an Agile team member
  • Mentor junior developers on coding, testing, debugging, and analytics
  • Staying up to date with new technology and teaching other developers how to incorporate new trends
  • Additional duties and responsibilities to vary as needed
