Senior Software Engineer – Infrastructure Job Description We are looking for an experienced hands-on Senior Software Engineer to provide technical expertise along with hands-on experience to maintain our Time & Expenses products for a suite of large customizable desktop, web and mobile applications with significant service pieces. Aderant, is a software house providing business management software for legal firms. Our talented and enthusiastic staff mean that we have become a trusted partner to firms of all sizes, from boutique firms based in one office, to global organizations spanning four continents. While our legacy has been providing on-premises software, we’re also embracing the opportunities presented by cloud services and taking advantage of them. The Senior Software Engineer will be a full stack Microsoft developer with a strong web, WPF Desktop experience. You will enjoy interacting with a global client base, listening to their issues and providing practical solutions. Continuous learning and adapting to the ever-evolving technology landscape is a big part of this role as we are evolving as an organization. We are a global company and that means working with some very talented people from different countries/timezones who always bring different perspectives to the table. Collaboration will be the key to this role as you will be constantly in touch with various clients. You will work closely with the core team that is based in North America and occasionally with our largest development centre in New Zealand. Responsibilities Here are some of the areas we’re working in that you will be involved in: (We don’t require expertise in all of these stacks, deep experience in a few of these stacks qualifies you) Web Development – Full stack web projects with a front-end focus, MVC. You’ll need a solid SQL (preferably Microsoft SQL Server) foundation Mobile/Web App Development – We have mobile apps in the Android and iOS for our global clients using React Native. Exposure to mobile web apps is an advantage C#/WPF – Desktop experience with C#, WPF and strong SQL would be useful. Customizable and localizable apps would be even better MS SQL Server – Previous experience in troubleshooting complex SQL queries/stored procedures would be a big plus AWS/Microsoft Azure – We are evolving our cloud strategy and as such exposure to cloud architecture and on-cloud performance optimizations is an advantage Platform/Infrastructure – You will have a thorough understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform architecture & Security Agile Development – Prior experience in Agile driven development is a must Stakeholder Management – We can’t emphasize enough on the importance of stakeholder management for this role. You will talk to several regional leaders in the company and the clients on a regular basis i.e., strong experience in building relationships and managing expectations of a variery of stakeholders is a must Skills & Requirements: Degree in computer science, software engineering, or related major. 5+ years professional software development experience. Experience in restructure from old tech to modern tech is a bonus Experience with .NET and C# Experience with web development (HTML, jQuery, CSS, XML, etc.) Some knowledge of WCF, WPF an advantage SharePoint and SharePoint Search experience is a major plus. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional outlook and demeanour. Deadline and detail oriented. Ability to prioritize competing tasks and foster cooperation in executing those tasks. Experience with transactional, distributed, commercial products (preferably product lines or suites). Knowledge and experience of design patterns (both at an architectural and implementation level). Working for Us You’ll be working in a product family, which is a close, cross functional team focused on a particular domain, for example the billing process. The team is a mix of engineers, business analysts, a product manager and technical writers who are tended to by a team lead. A prioritized backlog drives the goals of the team and work is carried out in small increments. The team owns the product delivery including test automation, performance optimization, reliability engineering, telemetry and customization support. Responsibilities
The Senior Software Engineer will provide technical expertise and hands-on experience to maintain Time & Expenses products across desktop, web, and mobile applications, focusing on full-stack Microsoft development with strong web and WPF Desktop experience. Responsibilities include involvement in web development (MVC), mobile/web app development (React Native), C#/WPF desktop work, MS SQL Server query troubleshooting, and evolving cloud strategy with AWS/Azure.
