Description

Amentum is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the Program Executive Office, Submarines (PEO Submarines), to perform R&D, technology maturation and insertion, analysis, testing, and systems engineering to assess and enhance microelectronics component technologies. This shall include updating and enhancing related microelectronics T&E facilities and laboratories; related capabilities associated with the Navy’s FBM system and SWS; and DoD strategic weapons platforms employing advanced and critical microelectronics technologies. The goal is to modify and upgrade legacy microelectronics T&E facilities and technologies as well as develop and integrate the next generation of advanced laboratories, laboratory technology systems, test facilities, and other facilities to include design, development, modification, and stand-up requirements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD; at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Experience with software development, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
  • Skilled in software programming, tool customization, and cloud solutions development.
  • Familiar with the Core Optimization Engine (COE) and customizing data import and export pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite 365.
  • Able to efficiently use the latest reporting, analysis, and communication technology.
  • Be eligible and legally allowed to perform contemplated here in the United States of America
  • Must have an Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities
  • The Software Engineer III performs a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software, encompassing techniques and procedures often regulated by a software development process with the purpose of improving the reliability and maintainability of software systems.
  • Establishes software information and engineering requirements which is necessitated by the potential complexity of those software systems, which may contain millions of lines of code.
  • Applies the discipline of software engineering for specific technical problems and procedures, including knowledge, tools, and methods for software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks.
  • Relates the disciplines of software engineering to the disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.
