Description

Your mission: You'll build the backend and integration architecture that powers the AI-native B2B commerce business – from cloud functions and event-driven systems to integrating LLMs into production workflows. You think in systems, build pragmatically, and know when an MVP is better than perfection. You'll work directly with the Technical Lead and the Data & Automation Engineers.

If you're keen to help shape tech in an AI-native setup, this is your next step.

Be responsible for:

  • Develop REST and GraphQL APIs in Python, build Cloud Functions on GCP, and integrate ERP, CRM, and APIs.
  • Perform data modeling and performance optimization in PostgreSQL, Firestore and BigQuery
  • Build event-driven systems with GCP Pub/Sub and orchestrate workflows with n8n or Airflow.
  • Integrate LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic) for data extraction, routing, and classification into productive workflows, and set up AI agents and RAG workflows.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions / Cloud Build and implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
  • Effectively use AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code), establish best practices within the team, and conduct code reviews.

Your profile:

  • 5+ years of backend development experience with very good knowledge of Python
  • Experience with serverless architectures (Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda, etc.) and a solid understanding of event-driven architecture (Pub/Sub, message queues, events)
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) as well as confident handling of REST APIs, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • AI/ML as a tool: Using LLMs to make workflows smarter – not more complicated.
  • Pragmatism: MVP before perfection, speed before over-engineering
  • German (native speaker or near-native speaker level)
  • Bonus: Experience with GCP (Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery), workflow tools such as n8n, Airflow or Make, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), NoSQL/Firestore, Vector DBs, and knowledge of RAG and fine-tuning.
  • Please note that this position is located in Bielefeld.
