You will design, build and optimise high-performance Java-based web services and containerised microservices that power a sophisticated analytics platform used by international clients.

You will have meaningful influence over backend architecture, cloud deployment strategy and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable Java-based RESTful services

• Develop and maintain containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)

• Contribute to secure identity and access management (Keycloak exposure advantageous)

• Collaborate closely with data engineering teams on complex datasets

• Drive best practice in code quality, performance and architecture

• Support Azure-based cloud infrastructure

The candidate profile

• 5+ years’ professional software engineering experience

• Strong expertise in Java and backend systems design

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS preferred)

• Strong SQL and database fundamentals

• Experience building and scaling production systems

• Analytical mindset with comfort operating in data-heavy environments

• Ability to mentor and influence technical direction
